Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya is Telugu and simply means 'Ramaiya will you come?'. The words were used for a song in Shree 420 by Shailendra and Shankar Jaikishan for Raj Kapoor.
Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya is an upcoming Hindi film by Prabhdeva who himself is a Telugu.

Prabhudeva isn't a Telugu... He is a tamilian but works significantly in both Telugu & Tamil industries
He is from Karnataka
No, no he is from bihar.
His Original name is Shankupani Sundaram. He was born in Mysore, Karnataka. Worked predominantly in Telugu and Tamil films
No at all...he is from Africa! Mind It!!!
he is frm karnataka nd he is a kannadiga who works in al d five languages!
Where ever he is from, he is a human.
yes a super human
First of all he is an Indian
LOL for all comments
Why are Indians not united? Wherever in India he is from he is Indian
Great comments guys ... he is from ... i dont know ..
Indiand are not united because Andhrites make groups, talk in their own language. Tamils hate north indians because north indians are fair (you will know the mistreatment by Tamilians if you go to Chennai),
It is surprising that people who are using the web can't just googlewhere Prabhu Deva is from. He, as per wikipedia, was born in Mysore to Kannada Lingayat family. Mysore (ಮೈಸೂರು) is the third-largest city in the state of Karnataka (this information is from wikipedia too).
who the hell is Prabhudeva...
I only know Narendra modi.....
This is one of the best blog I have ever seen on Tollywood. Really very informative. Keep up this good work.
People chill...the page is about the meaning of ramaiya vasta vaiya! Not a debate on where shankupani is from o.O. though i am sure he is from Earth :D great song btw!

Ramaiya= Ram + Aiya
Ram means LORD SRIRAM
Aiya means FATHER(in telugu)
SO, RAMAYYA MEANS RAM'S FATHER n he is DASHRATH according to hindhuism's holy book gita..
Now don't Ask me who is gita :-)
