I really love love love Raghu Dixit's music! I'm from Argentina, so English isn't my first language, and I only catch a few words in Hindi. Despite of this, I like to know the meaning of the songs. So, I'm trying very hard to understand a particular phrase, perhaps you could help me.
My doubt focuses in the meaning (I don´t know if sense is the correct way to say it) of the word "less" in this phrase:
"Armaan mere phir bhi lagte hain kam
but still all my wishes feel less.."
Is it used in terms of quantity or quality? Both directions are valid in the context of the sentence, but obviously not the same thing in poetic terms. I mean, if the wishes of this smitten man are few because he is obsessed, for example, or are little because he feels dwarfed by the idealized figure of the beloved. I feel Hindi is so rich in synonyms, even richer than Spanish, that most times it loses too much in its English translation.
I'll be checking your blog daily waiting for your answer.
