Abhi mujh mein Kahin: Lyrics, Translation (Agneepath)

Movie: Agneepath
Music: Ajay-Atul
Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya
Singer: Sonu Nigam
Label: Sony Music

Abhi mujh mein kahin,
baaki thodi si hai zindagi
Jagi dhadkan nayi,
jaana zinda hoon main to abhi
Kuch aisi lagan
is lamhe mein hai
Yeh lamha kahaan tha mera
Ab hai saamne, ise chhoo loon zara
Mar jaaun ya jee loon zara
Khushiyaan choom loon
Ya ro loon zara
Mar jaaun ya jee loon zara

Still, somewhere inside me,
there is a little life remaining..
A new heartbeat came up,
I got to know that I am still alive..
Some such tenacity
is there in this moment,
where was this moment of mine..
now it's in front of me,
should I die or should I live a little..
should I kiss joys,
or should I cry a little,
should I die or live for a while..

Ho abhi mujh mein kahin,
baaki thodi si hai zindagi

Still somewhere inside me,
there is a little life remaining..

Ho.. dhoop mein jalte hue tann ko,
chhaya ped ki mil gayi
Roothe bachche ki hansi jaise,
phuslaane se phir khil gayi
Kuch aisa hi ab mehsoos dil ko ho raha hai
Barson ke puraane zakhmon pe marham laga sa hai
Kuch aisa reham is lamhe mein hai
Ye lamha kahaan tha mera
Ab hai saamne, ise chhoo loon zara
Mar jaaun ya jee loon zara
Khushiyan choom loon
Ya ro loon zara
Mar jaaun ya jee loon zara

(as if) the body burning down in the sun
got the shade of a tree,
like the smile of an angry kid
came back on a little cajoling..
something like that is what my heart is feeling now,
on the years old wounds, there is some balm applied
some such mercy is there in this moment,
where was this moment of mine..
now it's in front of me,
should I die or should I live a little..
should I kiss joys,
or should I cry a little,
should I die or live for a while..

Dor se tooti patang jaisi,
thi yeh zindagani meri
Aaj hoon kal ho mera na ho
Har din thi kahaani meri
Ek bandhan naya peechhe se ab mujhko bulaaye
Aane wale kal ki kyun fikar mujhko sataa jaaye
Ik aisi chubhan, is lamhe mein hai
Yeh lamha kahaan tha mera
Ab hai saamne, isse chhoo loon zara
Marr jaaun ya jee loon zara
Khushiyaan choom loon
Ya ro loon zara
Marr jaaun ya jee loon zara..

like a kite with broken string
was this life of mine,
today I'm there, whether tomorrow takes place (for me) or not (is not known),
was my story everyday.. (he was unsure of how long he'd live)
now a new bond calls me from behind,
why does a worry for tomorrow trouble me,
such a prickle is there in this moment,
where was this moment of mine..
now it's in front of me,
should I die or should I live a little..
should I kiss joys,
or should I cry a little,
should I die or live for a while..

  6. A poetic version...if you please...
    Within me somewhere,
a bit of life remains still ..
    With renewed heartbeats,
being alive is what I feel
    An unknown persistence
    this moment has brought,
Where was this moment before ?
So long that I have sought
Now that I on its threshold
All I want is to feel its lore
Tell me should I just die
Or rather strive for a bit more?
    Should I embrace the bliss,
or is it just tears that is in store,
Tell me should I just die
Or rather strive for a bit more?

    Sweltering under the ruthless sun
Found the tree where shade loomed
Like the smile of an angry child
    After cajoling it again bloomed
Many a thing similar in my heart unfold
And anoint the pains that are ages old
    Such demulcent compassion
    this moment has brought,
Where was this moment before ?
So long that I have sought,
Now that I am on its threshold
All that I want is to feel its lore
Tell me should I just die
Or rather strive for a bit more?
    Should I embrace the bliss,
or is it just tears that is in store,
Tell me should I just die
Or rather strive for a bit more?

Like a severed kite falling through the sky
Has been my life all along I find,
today I am still holding on,
Tomorrow may not be that kind.
But everyday it used to be a tale of mine
Now a new bond holds my string from behind,
Why yet again after such a long time,
A concern for things to come mystify my mind?
    Such sting for longing
    this moment has brought,
Where was this moment before ?
So long that I have sought,
Now that I am on its threshold
All that I want is to feel its lore
Tell me should I just die
Or rather strive for a bit more?
    Should I embrace the bliss,
or is it just tears that is in store,
Tell me should I just die
Or rather strive for a bit more?

  7. How should I tell her? She is leaving our college in 2 months. Each moment is giving me pain after listening this song. Where is that moment when i'll dare to tell her, she is my life. Don't know shall I be alive without her after two months.

  8. Go for it man. Don't let her go. Because its hard to commit but its harder to regret. So don't waste the time. Just Do It....

  12. I am so happy that songs like this can be made -Sonu Nigam and other singers who really value our tradition of Indian film music should educate our creators of Indian film music in this modern era to produce music and songs like that we heard in the golden era of Indian film music, the times of Rafisaab, Lataji, Kishoreda, Mukeshji, Ashaji, etc. Please do not westernize - we the audience hate that..especially falcetto voices, hip hop etc, lets modernize our Indian culture, don't Westernize it! Even DID, the dances are more acrobatic than dances and so Western; what happened to our Indianess! Lets get more songs like this...thank you.

  16. this is not a song only. This is something which is equal to a power of support to enable you to go ahead and explore...a pessimistic gets a courage to die and forget his pain...an optimist gets enormous force to dig the earth and gets the ultimate for which he was waiting so long. A loneliness can be fulfilled with a big hug by the sole person by your side...just like a stressful life comes to an end suddenly and you are in the woods after opening your eyes...

  25. Their mumblings still sounded cryptic or “ambigramic” but the puzzling was way easier than that of the flight attendant’s totally foreign language professional translation. Thanks to the holocaust movies my dad watches every now and then, I was somehow accustomed and prepared for the German’s morphology of my lingua franca.
