Irshad Kamil Meaning

Irshad is a common Urdu name, which means to guide, to permit, or permission.

Irshad Kamil [इरशाद कामिल,ارشاد کامل] was born as Mohammad Irshad, but he felt his name was incomplete, and wanted a weightier name. So, as per a Caravan Article, 'he pored over a dictionary with his mother to look for an appropriate word to complete his name, and discovered ‘Kamil’, which means complete'.

Since Irshad Means permission, Irshad Kamil would mean a complete or granted permission. However, it's more sensible to think of his name as Irshad, and Kaamil as his 'takhallus', a pen name adopted by an Urdu poet.

Aradhya/ Aaraadhya/ Aaradhya meaning

Aaradhya (आराध्या) is Hindi/Sanskrit, meaning someone who is adorable, or worth devotion for.

Aaradhana is Hindi/Sanskrit for devotion towards someone, and aaradhya comes from that.

Aaradhya is the name of Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's daughter, and grand daughter of Amitabh Bachchan.

Madhubala literally means Sweet girl, as Madhu in Hindi/Sanskrit for Honey and Baala means a girl, or young lady. Hence the meaning.

Madhubala was also the screen name of one of the most famous actresses of Hindi Film Industry, Mumtaz Jahan Begum Dehlavi.

Gulzar: Full Name/ Real Name

This is kind of outside the scope of this blog but since it is about the person's name who is master of words and meanings, this could probably not be left.

Gulzar, one of the best ever poets of India (at least to me), was born Sampooran Singh Kalra. That is, Gulzar was a Sikh, with a beard and a Pagdi. Yes, I've even seen the old picture of a young Gulzar in beard and turban.

Gulzar was his pen name he had started writing with since very beginning of his career, or say even before that.

The meaning of 'Gulzar' is blossoming/blossomed.

Shekhar meaning

I don't specialize in the meanings of names but since Shekhar is the name of a Bollywood composer and there are doubts and confusions regarding what Shekhar means, I am writing this post.

The word Shekhar comes out of Sanskrit/Hindi word Shikhar which means the top, peak. Hence, Shekhar means someone who is at the top.

Going by the meaning, we see words like Chandra Shekhar, which means one who has the moon at the top of him (that is, on his head), meaning Lord Shiva.

Amitabh Meaning

Well, first there was (and there is, and always will be) Amitabh Bachchan. And now, 35 years after his superstardom started, there are Amitabh Bhattacharya and Amitabh Varma and maybe more coming up in the industry. But then, even today people ask what the word Amitabh mean. So here I give the answer, once again.

Amitabh is made up of two words, Amit + Abha. Amit means one that never dies and Abha is a glow, a radiance, maybe a halo. Hence, Amitabh means someone with a radiance that never dies. A person with an immortal glow.

By the way, the name Amitabh was given to the Mr Bachchan by renowned Hindi poet Sumitra Nandan Pant.
