Things that Give You a Kick in 'Kick'

Kick has quite some kick. I mean, come on, if you don't like Salman Khan, you just wouldn't read this review. But if you like his movies even a little, then yes, the movie gives some kick. There are a few low spots in the movie, but most of time it gives you something awesome. Be it the action, dialogs, small subplots, hero or villain.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Yes, this guy may be picking up filmfare and IIFA and all those awards that come for the best villain for his huge sinister laugh alone. He does it repeatedly, and yet you never think it's too much. The only scene where Salman looked a little low in the entire movie is where he tries to copy Nawaz's laugh. Nawaz is that good.

I thought it was kind of understood, but then it's not unless probably have some background information. Yesterday a friend was joking if this kick had anything to do with FIFA, or was it what he was thinking it was. Of course it had nothing to do with FIFA, but here is some background.

The story of the film is that the hero doesn't want to live a regular, 'boring' life, and looks for a 'kick' in everything, something that keeps him high instead of being bored by things. Here in the song the same reference has been used and the girl says that she doesn't get a 'kick' without him. He is needed for her to be high.

The song, composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Jasmine Sandlas, features Salman with Nargis Fakhri, and is called 'The Devil Song'.

Himesh Reshammiya once again creates a sticking tune for Salman Khan that would easily stick in one's mind after listening to the song a few times, quite like the beginning tune in Teri-Meri-Meri-Teri of Bodyguard, but this time for a fun song.
