Safarnama Meaning | सफ़रनामा

Safarnama or Safarnaama is Urdu for Travelogue.

Safar is Urdu for travel, a journey, and -naama is a suffix which means 'an account of' or 'the story of.' For example you might remember the famous books Baabarnaama and Akbarnaama. These were supposed to be accounts of Baabar and Akbar's rule respectively. So, similarly, a 'safarnaama' is an account of a journey or travel, which we can call a travelogue.

Safarnaama is the title of a song sung by Lucky Ali in the film Tamasha. The full song's translation can be found at http://www.bollymeaning.com/2015/10/safarnama-lyrics-translation-tamasha.html.

Music: A R Rahman
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil
Singers: Sukhwinder Singh, Haricharan, Haripriya

The song is like a theme song for the movie, as in, the movie's theme is that there is one love story that keeps on going, again and again, in different places, in different times, and yet it is that one same story. This song here connects a few of the stories in the same way.

This is a gem from the album. Sung by none other than A R Rahman himself, the song inspires one to do what one wishes to do, rather than be what the world wishes them to be, telling them that they can do anything they wish to do.

A totally fun song from a probably-never-before combination of Rahman and Mika, with Nakash Aziz doing some oye hoyes and aaye haayes. Btw, some of Mika's words are at times a little unclear in this one, so if you find anything wrong, please let us know. Thanks.

Agar Tum Saath Ho Lyrics Translation | Tamasha

Movie: Tamasha
Music: A R Rahman
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil
Singer: Alka Yagnik, Arijit Singh
Music Label: T-Series

In this song, the title line is a scenario, and what both the hero and the heroine of the story think about the scenario is what their words are. The girl tells how happy she'd be if they are together, while the guy says it wouldn't matter because the life is merciless always and would remain so even if they are together.

Wat Wat Wat Meaning

Wat Wat has no meaning.

Now let me explain the meaning. Wat is just a suffix from the words lagaawat, banaawat, etc., which would respectively mean applies, makes. And -wat is nothing but the part of the word that decides the tense of the verb. Like -s in plays, eats and sings, like -ta hoon in khata hoon, peeta hoon in Hindi. Here the lyricist has used it nicely to rhyme a few verbs. This way of speaking where such words with -wat are used is from an Eastern UP dialect of Hindi, guess Braj bhasha.

Matargashti Lyrics Translation | Tamasha

Movie: Tamasha
Music: A.R. Rahman
Lyrics: Irshad Kamil
Singer: Mohit Chauhan
Music Label: T-Series

Imtiaz Ali, ARR, Irshad Kamil and Mohit Chauhan once again come up with something wonderful. The first song from Tamasha is not just worth listening to, it's worth a watch too. Ranbeer Kapoor not-so-loudly copies Dev Anand, talks about a few of RK's movies, and has some fun that you would enjoy too. So here is a video as well. Hope you love it.

Tamasha Meaning | तमाशा

Tamasha is a common, simple Hindi-Urdu word, which means a show, a spectacle.

In the earlier days when there were not so many means for entertainment, say television, or even radio, in the Indian subcontinent there used to be different shows by people in unorganized way (mostly roadside) and sometimes organized way (fairs, circuses etc.), and they were all called 'Tamasha.' Tamasha comes from the Persian root, where Tamasha means viewing or sight.

Tamasha is an upcoming movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, directed by Imtiaz Ali.
