Jaana Hai Baadal se Door: Lyrics, Translation (Dum Maaro Dum)

Movie: Dum Maaro Dum
Music: Pritam Chakraborty
Lyrics: Jaideep Sahni
Singer: Zubeen Garg

Jaana hai, baadal se door
Chhaya hai, pagal suroor
Raahein bhi, bechain hain
Bepanaha, yeh nain hain
Ho naina jaage jaage
Ho chaina bhaage bhaage
Toh muskura, ke bolna kal ko soh lenge
Ho mazil meelon aagey, jo dil ko bojhal laage
Toh muskura, ke bolna kal ko roh lenge

I have to go, beyond clouds,
there is a mad intoxication on me,
even the paths are restless,
and my eyes are homeless,
my eyes are awake all the time,
and my peace is running
so smile, and say we'll sleep tomorrow (when we reach the destination)
if the destination is miles away, and the heart feels heavy,
then smile, and say we'll cry tomorrow..

Te Amo Meaning (Dum Maaro Dum)

Te Amo is a Spanish phrase which means I love you. Amo here means love.

Paakhanda Meaning

Well, the actual word that has been twisted in Dum maaro dum song as paakhanda, is paakhand, which means heresy, or hypocrisy.

I do not know if this is intentional in the song but paakhanda sounds close to pakhana which means potty as well. Yes, the English word is used in the previous line. On a personal note, I hope it's just unintentional as the song already hits new lows in terms of words.

Jiyein Kyun (Dum Maaro Dum) Lyrics, Translation

Na aaye ho, na aaoge, na phone pe bulaoge
Na shaam ki karaari chai, labon se yoon pilaoge
Na aaye ho, na aaoge, na din dhale sataoge
Na raat ki nashili baat se neendh mein jagaoge
Gaye tum gaye ho kyun, raat baaki hai
Gaye tum gaye ho kyun, saath baaki hai
Gaye tum gaye hum tham gaye har baat baaki hai
Gaye kyun,
toh jiyein kyun

U didn't come, u won't come, u won't call on phone,
neither will u make me drink the crisp evening tea with (ur) lips now.
U didn't come, u won't come, u won't trouble in the evenings,
neither will u wake me up with drunk talks in nights,
gone, why are you gone, and this night is still there,
gone, why are you gone, and the togetherness is still there
gone, you're gone, and I stopped, everything is still remaining,
why gone,
and why to live (now)..

Dum Maro Dum meaning

Dum Maaro Dum or Dum Maro Dum was a song composed by RD Burman and sung by Asha Bhosle, from the 1971 Hindi film Hare Rama Hare Krishna.

Dum Maro Dum literally means 'Puff, take a Puff' but if you want to be very clear, it would translate to something like Concentrate on taking the puff (and all your sorrow will be gone, as the next line goes).

Dum Maro Dum is also the title of an upcoming film by Rohan Sippy, starring Abhishek Bachchan.
