Pasoori Meaning

Pasoori (पसूड़ी) is a Punjabi word, that is actually a way of saying 'Bhasoori' (भसूड़ी). Bhasoodi has also resulted in the Hindi slang word bhasad (भसड़), which is close in meaning to 'chaos'.

In Punjabi, the meaning of Pasoori is somewhere between problem or trouble, especially one that can be avoided, to sheer pointlessness.

Thus, the lines

agg laavaan majboori nu,
aan jaan di pasoori nu,

translate to something like, 'may this compulsion, this pointless trouble of meeting and going away, go to hell.'

Chhad de Moorakh Lyrics, Meaning (Coke Studio @ MTV)

Show: Coke Studio
Producer: Clinton Cerejo
Lyrics: Manoj Yadav
Performer: Master Saleem

Chhad De Moorakh is a song that asks the listener to leave the worldly illusions and to do something that makes the world happy. The lyrics were written by Manoj Yadav, as per him, at a point of time when he was low.

Saleem, who has sung songs like Aahun Aahun and Awaara (7 Khoon Maaf), sings the song just wonderfully, and the end of the song comes in a Kabeer's Doha. The Video, Lyrics and English Translation follow.

chhad de moorakh moh jagat da
chhad de moorakh moh
jag hai ret ka teela
kaun leher mein beh jaaye jeevan ka khwaab kabeela..

O idiot, Leave the charms of this world
leave this enchantment..
This world is a sand dune..
You don't know in which wave the dreamy tribe of life will wash away..

Chadta Suraj: Lyrics, Translation (Coke Studio MTV Version)

Here are the lyrics and translation of the Coke Studio @ MTV version of Chadhta Suraj, sung by KK and Sabri Brothers.

Huye naamwar benishaan kaise kaise ee
zameen kha gayee naujawaan kaise kaise

aaj jawaani par itraane wale kal pachtayega
aaj jawaani par itrane waley kal pachhtayega
chadta suraj dheere dheere dhalta hai, dhal jayega
chadta suraj dheere dheere dhalta hai, dhal jayega
dhal jayegaa, dhal jaayega
dhal jayegaa, dhal jaayega

So many famous people became lost,
the earth (this world) has eaten youth how good..

O man proud of your youth today, you'll repent tomorrow,
The rising sun sets slowly, will set..

Tu yahan musafir hai,
yeh saray paani hai,
char roz ki mehmaan, teri zindagaani hai..
zun, zameer, zar , zevar,
kuch na saath jaayegaa,
khaali haath aaya hai, khaali haath jaayegaa.
Jaan kar bhi anjaana,
ban raha hain deewane,
apni umr-paani par tan raha hain deewane.
Is kadar tu khoya hai,
is jahaan ke mele mein,
tu khuda ko bhoola hai,
fakr-ke is jhamele mein.
aaj tak yeh dekha hai,
paane-wala khota hai,
zindagi ko jo samjhaa,
zindagi pe rota hai.
mitnewaali duniya ka, aitbaar kartaa hai,
kya samajhke tu aakhir, is-se pyar karta hai.....

apni apni fikron mein,
jo bhi hai, woh uljhaa hai
jo bhi hai, woh uljhaa hai
zindagi haqeeqat mein kya hai, kaun samjha hai
kya hai, kaun samjha hai.

You are just a guest here
This world is just an illusion
Your life is short
Money, ego, house, jewellery,
nothing you will take along with you
You came here empty handed, you will go empty handed
You know this, but you are acting ignorant,
and wasting your life
The way you are lost
in everyday life
you have forgotten God
in this problem of ego
We have seen this yet
those who run after material thing lose
One who understood real meaning of life
cries over life
You believe the mortal life,
thinking of what do you love this life?

In their daily troubles, whoever is there, is lost,
In reality, who has understood what is life..

aaj samjhle
aaj samjhle, kal yeh mauka, haath na tere aayega,
O gaflat ki neendh mein sone-waale, dhoka khayega,
chadta suraj dheere dheere dhalta hain, dhal jayega
chadta suraj dheere dheere dhalta hain, dhal jayega
dhal jayegaa, dhal jayegaa
dhal jayegaa, dhal jayegaa

get this, you'll not get this chance tomorrow,
O one sleeping in unconciousness, you'll fail
The rising sun sets slowly, will set..

Hoo Meaning

Hoo is a Punjabi word used for God. Though I am not sure of the origin here, my guess is it's probably Persian, from the poetry of Baba Sultan Bahoo.
