Movie: Khoobsurat
Music: Sneha Khanwalkar
Lyrics: Ikram Rajasthani
Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan, Resmi Sateesh
Music Label: T-Series

Engine ki Seeti, or Anjan ki Seeti as Resmi Sateesh sings it, is a beautiful track based on Rajasthani folk song Anjan ki seeti mein mharo man dole. The song is recreated by Sneha, who is known for tapping folk music and mixing it with electronica etc., and the lyrics are rewritten by Ikram Rajasthani. However, it's the singing of the song that is the real fun.

Mor Bani Thangat Kare Ramleela Gujarati Song Lyrics Translation

Mor Bani Thangaat Kare [Gujarati:મોર બની થનગાટ કરે] is a traditional Gujarati song written by Gujarati poet and social reformer Jhaverchand Meghani, and sung by a number of people earlier, including Chetan Gadhvi and Ashit Desai.

The song, a version of Rabindranath Tagore's 'Navi Varsha' as per Mitixa, is a popular one in Gujarati literature. Thanks to Mitixa for providing the lyrics, although it's in Gujarati script.

The song is incorporated with almost the same traditional music in Ramleela, though the tempo of the song is increased to keep it interesting for the movie, while Osman Mir and Aditi Paul do a wonderful job at singing. Here is a translation of the song.

Mor bani thangaat kare, Mann Mor bani thangaat kare
My heart is dancing like a peacock

Ghanghor jhare Chahu ore mhaaro Mann
Mor bani thanghat kare

on seeing rain falling in all four directions, my heart is wondering
My heart dances like a peacock..

Badal Uthya ri Sakhi: Lyrics, Translation (MKBKM)

The song Baadal Uthya ri Sakhi is an old folk song from Haryana and hence the movie version also has strong Haryanvi influences in the language. Also, some lyrics may not be perfect due to lack of command on the dialect. Any improvements in lyrics/translation are welcome. Thanks.

Movie: Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola
Music: Folk/Vishal Bhardwaj
Singer: Rekha Bharadwaj

Badal Uthya ri Sakhi
Badal Uthiya ri Sakhi
Mere saasre ki ore,
Paani barsega sir tod..
Baadal uthyaa ri Sakhi.

The cloud has come up, O my friend,
The cloud has come up..
Towards my in-laws home (where she'd live)
Huge amount of water will rain
The cloud has come up..

Kikkli/ Kikli Kaleer Di Meaning

Kikli Kaleer Di is a traditional Punjabi dance/game for little girls where they hold hands and keep spinning round and round.

This dance/game is actually called Kikli and Kaleer means a little girl. And since the first two lines of the song almost always go as Kikli Kaleer di, Pag mere veer di (Kikli is dance for little girls, and the turban is for my brother), the dance/game/song is commonly known as kikli kaleer di.

Here in the song from Luv Shuv tey Chicken Khurana, the traditional song is changed to Kikli kaleer di, hatt gayi heer di, ranjha kare cheat ji, kare heer kya, saying that when Ranjha cheats on love of his life Heer, what should Heer do.

Basically the words are used for two reasons, one, the words Kikli kaleer di are not just popular, they give a traditional and catchy music base to the song, and secondly, it also completes the motive of the girl in the song trying to keep thing traditional and normal, but the guy wants to change that and hence the girl complains by making change in the song.
