Khumaar, Khumari meaning

Khumaar and Khumari (or Khumaari) sound like two words with related, but different meanings. But strangely, both the word mean the same thing, the state of being intoxicated, or what one would call in Hindi, Nashe ki haalat.

Interestingly, this is something that is used in both masculine and feminine genders and one can say khumaar hai, or khumari hai, and both are equally correct. Of course, the first one has Khumar in masculine and the later has khumari which is feminine. The point to be noted is that the words have nothing to do with the gender of the person they are used for.
